Butler Park

Located in the extreme southeastern corner of the Township, along the Musconetcong River, and partially located within Mansfield Township, the residential community of Butler Park was established in 1927, when a Butler purchased a farm and subdivided it into building lots. He added to his fortune by the construction of the Butler Amusement Park across the Musconetcong River in Lebanon Township, Hunterdon County in 1929. The community had its own baseball team and a fire company was established in 1953.

Butler Park?

What do you remember about Butler Park?

Did you ride the Robert E. Lee boat, or go for a family reunion in the grove?

Swimming, boat rides, picnics and, of course, the Merry-Go-Round. Butler Amusement Park was along the Musconetcong River. It was built around 1929 and closed around 1952. We believe the Merry-Go-Round originally came from a traveling carnival and is now in Wrightstown P.A. at a place called Indian Walk Carousel Village.
