The name of the park differed slightly over time. [very common for amusement parks] It was originally known as "The Park on the Palisades" when owned by the trolley company (1898-1908). Under new ownership in 1908, it was named "Palisades Amusement Park".

In 1910 the Park was bought by the Schenck Brothers and renamed "Schenck Brothers Palisade Park". This might be the first time the "s" was dropped from "Palisades". During the Schenck ownership, it was referred to as both "Palisades" and "Palisade" Amusement Park.

When the Rosenthals bought the Park in 1935, they called it Palisades Amusement Park of which it remained until the Park closed in 1971.
