The Santa Monica Pier opened in 1909. Over the years various attractions existed. It was in severe decline in the latter half of the 1900's but 'saved' and re-habilitated in recent times. One Park presently operating on the Pier is Pacific Park. In 1916 Charles Looff built his own Pier in vicinity of the Santa Monica Pier and ran hos own 'park'. It is unclear now what year his Pier ceased operating.
