Byrnes Island. In 1890 the park was re-named Island Park.

In 1879 the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad opens an amusement park on Byrnes Island. In 1890 the park was re-named Island Park.

------footbridge to Island Park. This small amusement park and picnic area on Byrnes Island was operated by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The park and footbridge were destroyed by the 1924 Flood.
