Urbita Springs, San Bernadino


1901 a 15-acre park was developed. Bathhouses were built. The park was taken over by the San Bernardino Valley Traction Company. A water slide, bandstand, pavilion, aviary, zoo, and amusement rides were built.

1903 the lake was expanded to more than a mile around and the park went up to 34 acres.

1910 ownership to the Pacific Electric Railway.

1924 Name changed to Pickering Park for a number of years until in turned into a swamp and the financial depressuion hit.

1943 the 34 acre park was bought and had a large list of proposed attractions but a popular dance hall into the 1950's.

1966 it became to site of the Inland Center Mall.
