Burgett Park, located between Dover and Great Falls, New Hampshire, was developed in 1890 by H.W.Burgett, an agent acting for the Consolidated Light and Power Company and the Union Street Trolley Company. A two story Casino held a large banquet hall and kitchen on the first level, and an exhibition hall on the second floor. Located in beautifully landscaped surroundings were a bandstand, carousel, penny arcade, shooting gallery, bear pits, fenced in baseball and other athletic fields, lawn tennis courts and a track for bicycle races. Vaudeville type shows were presented in a 1,500 seat open air amphitheater, and the dance hall decorated with long wall mirrors was very elegant. The park later became known as Central Park and lasted until the 1920's....
