It appearing, after public notice and hearing, and upon investigation by the Board, that said petition has been authorized by the vote of the stockholders of said company, and that the acquisition and maintenance of the pleasure resorts in question may be not only advantageous to said company but beneficial to the public, it is Ordered, That the Board approve the acquisition by the said Lowell, Lawrence & Haverhill Street Railway Company of the following parcels of land, with the buildings, improvements, fixtures and equipments now thereon or used in connection therewith for purposes of lawful recreation and pleasure:
1. A parcel of land situate in the town of Groveland, known as 'The Pines,' reference for a description thereof to be had to the deed of the Industrial Improvement Company to the petitioner, dated May 17, 1893, and recorded with Essex (South District) Deeds, Book 1380, page 41; and also to a plan of said land made by J. M. Littlefield, surveyor, 1895, and on file with the petition in this office.
2. A parcel of land situate in the town of Methuen, known as 'Glen Forest,' reference for a description thereof to be had to the deed of George H. Campbell to the petitioner, dated May 18, 1893, and recorded with Essex (North District) Deeds, Book 125, page 470; and to the deed of the Industrial Improvement Company to the petitioner, dated August 4, 1893, and recorded with the said Essex Deeds, Book 127, page 590; and also to an engineer's plan of said land, November, 1895, on file with the petition in this office.
The parcels of real estate and property acquired as aforesaid are to be held, equipped, maintained and used only for purposes of recreation and for pleasure resorts, in accordance with and subject to all the provisions of said chapter 316 of the Acts of 1895.
