No doubt contributing greatly to traffic on the Hoosac Valley Street Railway was Hoosac Valley Park, located in North Adams about a mile north of the Zylonite carhouse. Opened in 1892, it was situated largely on a broad, rolling elevation overlooking the Hoosac River. Among its attractions were a Dance Hall, a pavilion, a summer house and a sizable artificial pond. Owned by the street railway company, it was open to the public free of charge during the late spring, summer, and early fall. Naturally, it was expected that park visitors would patronize the trolleys to travel to and from the resort.
To help handle the park traffic, two new open electric cars were acquired in 1894......
