BELCHERTOWN STATE SCHOOL. A closed institution. It was one of Massachusetts institutions for the 'mentally deficient' or todays proper wording ? One might say if the state THOUGHT you were 'mentally deficient' you might have ended up here 'never to get out'. It seems in going through the old abandoned buildings they discovered an old Carousel. Belchertown has had an annual FAIR for a long time but it included no amusements -- at least in older days.... So where o where did this Carousel come from and used where ? Maybe it was used where it was found? Amusement Park...hmmmmm ??
