This is one of the industrial spurs (below) coming off Amtrak-Metro-North I label the 'garbage' line. I do not know the official name nor origins..yet...(it was called the Cedar Creek Railroad and the last railroad absorbed by the New Haven Railroad) It is segmented up on Amtrak-Metro-North but comes down and travels east. A branch to the south served a large recycling plant (still active but no rail used)(when they got their permit some years ago they stated NO RAIL NEEDED..WE HAVE I-95..) ( and other customers. The line at one time continued east and served a lumber business up to maybe 15 years ago. Prior it continued on and wound around by Bridgeport University and travelled out towards the ocean to serve an industrial business named Sikorsky.

Most all tracks are now gone or paved over. There WERE other customers in older days. Even on this photo as you look to left as tracks come down from Metro-North there WAS an industrial spur into the 'business' on the left Actually their business still lives dealing with large pieces of concrete. (I belive that is gone now-2023)

On March 13, 1941 Crane Co. disposed of its railroad property to the United States Aluminum Co. (ALCOA). On July 1, 1946 its name changed to Cedar Creek Co. (Cedar Creek RR). On August 1, 1958 ALCOA donated Cedar Creek RR (the land and industrial track together) to the New Haven RR Co. with also a payment sum of $58,000 to cover expenditure for rehabilitation of the track.

NOTE: This was the last railroad line to be included in to the NHRR...
